Information about Guguli

Finland is becoming more and more international and multi-cultural. Still, people from different cultures are often hard-pressed to find a common language and behavioral model that would help, not only the adaptation of immigrants to Finnish society, but also the adaptation of Finns to an increasingly international society.

We found art to be a means for people to reach out to one another, independent of language and cultural tradition. We realised that there were no multi-cultural theatre groups in Tampere.

We decided to start a group open to different people and ideas. In the beginning, we were united by a desire to comment on society. The focus was not restricted to art; the primary stimulus was a need for self-expression and for combatting societal evils via artistic methods. Today, we are more concentrated on theatre, but our performances are always derived from things we feel are important on both personal and societal levels. We make our performances ambitious artistically, as well.

Guguli was founded in 2001, and registered in the spring of 2003. To join, the membership fee of 10e should be paid to the account number 800011-70849039.
